What’s a hoagie?
Hoagie: a submarine sandwich filled with Italian meats, cheeses, and other toppings.
Where does it come from?
The name likely comes from the Philadelphia area where, during World War I, Italian immigrants who worked at the Hog Island shipyard began making sandwiches; they were originally called “hoggies” before the name hoagie took hold.
We like to honour the history and the authenticity of what the sandwich represents. So our hoagies are made with exactly the same meats and ingredients as they were back then. Not only that, but we bake our soft Italian Hoagie rolls to make sure they are as they would be back home in Philly.
