Leake St. Arches Waterloo

American Restaurant, Dive Bar and Batting Cages

A cathedral to Philadelphia

“In the good times game, this place is a riot” writes the Evening Standard about our Waterloo venue tucked deep beneath Waterloo Station in the graffitied recesses of Leake Street Tunnel – reminiscent of the hip and vibrant Fishtown neighbourhood back home in Philly. A massive venue, conceived as a cathedral to Philadelphia, our Waterloo joint takes the humble American dive bar and steps it up a level by combining all the best bits of a dive bar – unpretentiousness, friendly strangers, beer, bourbon, rock and roll with flat out fun and games. Literally games! In between watching baseball on our giant projection screen and swigs of Pabst Blue Ribbon, why not take swings in our baseball batting cages – just one of several in venue games to help pass the time. The Evening Standard is right, this place is a riot and there’s nothing else like in the city.

And what do I order?

There always seem to be a group sinking Buds over buffalo chicken wings on the seats out front, so it’d make sense to start there. Beyond the Budweiser, the bar serves up Victory Brewing Company Prima Pils straight from Philadelphia, plus USA-brewed Blue Point Toasted Lager. Don’t miss the combo ubiquitous in its home city: the Citywide Special, a shot of whiskey and a beer — served up here as a shot of Jim Beam and a can of Pabst Blue Ribbon.
